Who Should Receive a Flu Shot?
For the 2012-2013 influenza season, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommends that
everyone six months of age and older receive a flu shot.
However, if you have a severe reaction of chicken eggs, have had a reaction to a flu shot in the past,
or have Guillian Barre syndrome, you should speak with your physician about getting a flu shot.
Two Types of Influenza Vaccinations
 
A newer vaccination, delivered in a mist into the nose. Appropriate for ages 2-49--contains protection for predicted seasonal flu strains and H1N1.
Traditional shot, administered by needle in the upper arm--contains protection for predicted seasonal flu strains and H1N1.
Consent Form Required
All individuals must fill out a consent form prior to receiving
a flu vaccination. Individuals under the age of 18 will
need to have their consent form signed by a parent or guardian. Consent forms are available at the clinic location. Vaccinations will also be available at our Oak Park office and through our homebound service.
