Dear Friend,
The Visiting Nurse Association of Southeast Michigan has created
a legacy in Southeast Michigan. In an age where home health care
agencies spring up over night, we are proud to be the organization
that founded home health care in Metro Detroit more than 100 years
ago. When it comes to your health, experience and commitment matter.
We have a history of pioneering initiatives to improve community
health and, frequently, we are recognized by our peers and other
organizations for our efforts. As a recipient of the 2005 Michigan
Award of Excellence for Care in a Home Health Setting from MPRO--Michigan's
Medicare quality improvement organizaiton, we continually strive
to make a great service even better.
As technology advances, we find ways to incorporate it into the
best practices of patient care. With our telehomecare program,
we can offer care that offers dramatic improvements in the quality
of life for patients with heart failure, diabetes, hypertension
and COPD.
When cure is no longer an option, we also excel at hospice care
which helps patients live with dignity in the comfort of their
own home. We continually identify ways to improve the value of
our services to hospice patients. One example is the Memoir Makers
volunteer writing program where a VNA volunteer will interview
a patient and create a short memoir that will serve as a lasting
tribute to their life experiences and wisdom.
There are so many ways that VNA helps make a difference in our
community. I invite you to explore our Web site and learn about
our organization and how we can help you or a loved one.
Sincerely,
Kathleen J. Holycross
